How to disable meeting recording and transcription for Teams

Instructions:

  1. Log in to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center with your admin account.

  2. Navigate to MeetingsMeeting policies. Either Edit an existing policy or Add a new custom meeting policy.

  3. Under the policy’s Recording & transcription settings, you can disable the Meeting recording and Transcription features.

  4. Once the policy is configured, assign it to specific users:

    • Select the chosen policy → Manage usersAssign users, add the users who should not have recording/transcription enabled.

  5. Save all changes. The policy will take effect for those users going forward.
