Ensuring stable connection between Vibe Board and your device

To ensure a smooth experience with your Vibe Board, it is crucial that it maintains a stable network connection with your device.

💡 Note: Before proceeding, please note that some of the following steps may require technical knowledge or expertise to complete successfully. If you’re unsure about any part of the process, we recommend consulting a network administrator or seeking professional technical support to avoid potential issues with network or device configurations.

Confirm Vibe Board and your device are on the same subnet

The Vibe Board and your device must be on the same subnet to communicate effectively.

  • Check the IP Addresses

    • On the Vibe Board, go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi, and tap on the currently connected Wi-Fi to view its IP address.

    • On your device -

      • Vibe One Mobile

        • For iOS users, go to Settings > WLAN, tap on the connected Wi-Fi or ⓘ button and scroll down to see the IP Address

        • Similar for Android users, find your connected Wi-Fi and inspect detail info, where you will find the IP Address

      • Vibe One Web

        • On macOS, open System Preferences > Network and click the connection currently active to inspect IP Address

        • On Windows, open the Command Prompt and type ipconfig

  • Compare the IP Addresses

    • If the first three octets of the IP addresses (e.g., 192.168.1.x for both devices) match, they are likely on the same subnet. If they do not match (e.g., 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x), they may be on different subnets, which can cause connectivity issues.

  • Solution if Subnets Don’t Match

    • Ensure both devices connect to the same router or Wi-Fi network. If you have a dual-band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), try connecting both devices to the same band.

    • If you’re on a corporate network, contact your IT department to ensure both devices are within the same subnet.

Verify UDP port communication between devices

For the Vibe Board to communicate fully with your device, UDP port(50000-65535) communication must be enabled between them.

  • Testing UDP Port Communication

    • If you are on Windows, you can use PowerShell with a tool like Test-NetConnection to check if UDP communication is open on a specific port.

  • Using a Port-Scanning Tool

    • Alternatively, there are free tools like Nmap available for download that can help check if the UDP ports are open between your device and the Vibe Board. Simply input the Vibe Board’s IP address and run a scan to identify open UDP ports.

  • Solution if UDP Ports Don’t Communicate

    • If the test fails, check firewall settings on both devices to ensure that UDP ports are not blocked.

    • On Windows, go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced settings and enable the necessary UDP ports.

    • If using a router with strict security settings, ensure that it allows UDP traffic within your local network.

Additional Troubleshooting Tips

  • Restart Devices and Network Equipment

    • Sometimes a simple restart of the Vibe Board, your device, and the router can resolve connectivity issues.

  • Update VibeOS and Vibe One App

    • We continuously maintain and update the VibeOS on your Vibe Board and the Vibe One app, fixing known issues and optimizing performance. Please ensure that both devices are running the latest system versions.
